About Us
GOALS
-To construct infrastructure that matches with the growing needs of Go save Orphans,widows and needy children as a reputable Children center in Uganda.
-To obtain resources to support the mission and realize a reasonable benefit for the key stakeholder.
-To network with Agencies/NGOs working with orphans, Needy, Vulnerable and Disabled children among others for mutual benefits and referral support.
-To create awareness among children and communities in matters concerning children’s health issues like home hygiene, water source maintenance, training members in all preventive measures concerning health related problems in schools and communities.
In the early period, the charity carried out the following activities to support and achieve this objective:
-raising awareness in the community,
-Elderly home visiting,
-Providing Quality education to the Underprivileged children in the Center and around the community through sponsorships.
-Vocational skilling of Widows, Teenage mothers, and school dropouts.
-Helping disabled people more especially children.
-monitoring families with children at risk,
-resource mobilization

Widows in Uganda also face a challenge of social prejudice. In some primitive societies, widows are discriminated, people keep sitting away from them all day long, yet this is the time when she needs them more. Widows in Uganda are not allowed to speak in public, they are simply devalued. It’s even rare to be called by her name, she is always referred to “Namwandu” a local name meaning “the widow”. Living a widowed life in Uganda is simply a difficult hustle, we need to rise up together with them as a nation and fight for the helpless women who have lost their husbands. There is need to strengthen the rights associated with widows in Uganda. We can also form widow associations that bring together abused and mistreated widows in Uganda to fight for their rights. Remember together we stand, so these poor women can easily be heard if they have one voice speaking for them. Besides forming associations, we can sensitize the depressed and hopeless widows deep in the women and teach them the importance of joining these associations and how they can benefit from them. So you can choose to volunteer in Uganda and then journey to the remote villages of Uganda just to sensitize the innocent widows in Uganda. We can also choose to support the widows in Uganda through donations. Let’s donate to the suffering women both in villages and towns, give them start up business capital, clothes and food.A start up capital of $100 can help a widow start a business and be able to care after he own family .

Microloan is aimed to help a child's mother become self-sustaining. With financial awareness and microloans. A microloan is a $100 loan that can be used repeatedly as a “short-term” loan to help individuals start a business and become self-sufficient as they stimulate the economy. For example, a group of 5-6 women forms an accountability team, each with their own approved business plan. If one fails to make a payment, the others must come up with the full monthly loan payment together. By the end of the six months, each woman is able to care for her family without needing monthly sponsorship.

Child sponsorship connects two people — a sponsor with a generous heart and a child living in poverty. From toddler hood to young adulthood, our child sponsorship program equips kids with crucial life and job skills to break the cycle of poverty and education. Choose one or any number of children you feel you are ready to sponsor and send/request for their names and Child ID to (admin@gosaveorphans.org) and we shall provide you more information on the child you are sponsoring. It cost only $35 per month or $420 per year to provide education.

How do we select the children that we sponsor? We select those children that are most in need of financial support. We do not base our decisions on gender and our decisions are based on current circumstances.The most urgent cases take precedence. For example age, current family support, poverty levels, current health levels of the child and current shelter arrangements are key factors that determine the level of urgency.

Issue: Teenage girls are often encouraged to drop out of school and get married so their parents can collect a dowry from the groom’s family. These early marriages prevent girls from gaining an education and increase risk of HIV/AIDS, early childbirth and death during childbirth. By the age of 18, 42% of Ugandan girls have become mothers for the first time. Response: GSOWNC staff members are trained to advocate and intervene for the vulnerable. At the center, children are taught about their worth in God’s eyes and how to remain holistically healthy as they grow up.
